How it works
Most of this process is waiting. Here is the part that is yours.
Immigration paperwork takes months, but very little of that is time you spend. This is the honest breakdown of what the process asks of you, and where you are simply waiting on USCIS.
See it before you start.
The screens you will spend time on. Your work is the second one. The third is ours: every answer checked against your documents and against what USCIS requires, before anything is sent.
About three hours of your attention, spread over a few weeks.
The rest is our work, or the government’s clock.

Your answers and documents
Questions in plain language, answered from your phone across as many sittings as you like. This is the only real work you do.

Months
USCIS processes your case
Receipt notice, biometrics, sometimes an interview. We track the case and tell you what each notice means.
Timelines for the USCIS stages depend entirely on the office handling your case. We will show you the current published times for yours.
What we ask for
The documents to have ready.
Photos from your phone are fine. If something is missing we will tell you what can stand in for it.

- Any immigration documents you already have: visas, notices, permits
- Marriage or birth certificates for the relationship you are filing on
- Proof of your sponsor’s income, if your case needs a sponsor
- Addresses and dates for where you have lived and worked
